Shaoyang Beita Tower
First built in the first year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1573), it is a pavilion-style brick and stone structure tower, 37 meters high, with seven floors and eight sides. The tower body is built of blue-gray bricks and stones, with arched doors, false windows and relief carvings on each floor, and an iron treasure gourd on the top of the tower. It is one of the few existing ancient towers of the Ming Dynasty in southern China and was listed as a national-level cultural relic protection unit in 2013.
Beita Park
An urban park built around Shaoyang Beita Tower, covering an area of about 120 mu (about 8 hectares). The park is shaded by green trees and equipped with leisure trails, fitness squares, viewing platforms and other facilities. It allows visitors to watch the full view of Beita Tower up close, and is a good place for citizens to do morning exercises, relax and visit. Local residents often carry out cultural activities here in the evening.
Zijiang Scenic Belt (Beita Section)
An ecological landscape belt built along the north bank of the Zijiang River, starting from Zijiang No.2 Bridge in the west and ending at Xihu Bridge in the east, with a total length of about 3 kilometers. It is equipped with riverside trails, water-friendly platforms, landscape greening, etc., where you can enjoy the magnificent river view of the Zijiang River and overlook the urban scenery on the south bank. It is an excellent location for walking, cycling and viewing the river view, with bright night scene lights and unique customs.
Zhuangyuanzhou
A river island in the middle reaches of the Zijiang River, named after the legend that an ancient Zhuangyuan (top scorer in the imperial examination) studied here. It covers an area of about 200 mu (about 13.3 hectares), with dense vegetation on the island, equipped with a circular island trail, Zhuangyuan Pavilion, cultural corridor, etc. You can board the island by boat or directly through the landscape bridge, and it is a leisure resort to experience the ecological style of "an island in the river, and scenery on the island".
