Lingling District Tourism, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province

A memorial temple built to honor Liu Zongyuan, a litterateur of the Tang Dynasty. First constructed in the Northern Song Dynasty, the existing buildings were rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. The temple houses precious cultural relics such as the statue of Liu Zongyuan, Han Yu's "Stele of Luochi Temple in Liuzhou", and Su Shi's "Litchi Stele". It is an important place to study Liu Zongyuan's life and creation during his ten years in Yongzhou, known as "the first scenic spot in southern Hunan".

The core historical and cultural area of Yongzhou, first built in the 6th year of Yuanding in the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (111 BC), with a history of more than 2100 years of urban construction. A large number of historical buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties are preserved in the ancient city, and the street pattern basically maintains the historical style. It has historical blocks such as Zhengda Street, Jiefang Road, and Xinxie Street, which is an important window to experience the historical culture of Yongzhou.

The highest institution of learning in Yongzhou Prefecture during the Qing Dynasty, first built in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, named after its location on Pingzhou Island. The academy has simple and elegant architecture and a quiet environment, with buildings such as lecture halls, libraries, and Wenchang Pavilion. It is an important place to understand the ancient educational culture and academy system of Yongzhou.

One of the Eight Scenes of Yongzhou, named because the cave faces east. There are more than 100 cliff carvings in the rock since the Tang Dynasty, including inscriptions by historical celebrities such as Yuan Jie, Liu Zongyuan, and Zhou Dunyi. It is a treasure trove of stone carving art in Yongzhou and the best location to watch the scenery of the Xiao River.
